Carpets

Today was a busy day!! After the bath we got to shampoo carpets... it turns out that Roxy has "forgotten" that she is house trained and decided she can do her business anywhere, even after she just went outside!! JJ was of course an excellent helper and kept asking Mariette.."Ma-we-yette! You otay? otay!" He can be really cute when he wants to!

Roxy's First Bath!

Mariette and I got brave today and gave Roxy her first bath! It was too cold outside so we thought we'd try my tub... she did better than I thought! Mariette was the shampoo squirter and I scrubbed! I can't believe how stinky a dog can get :)

Look Alike

So I was in Vegas today and this girl looked EXACTLY like my sister so I had to take pictures... oh wait, IT WAS MY SISTER!!!!!

Mariette flew in from Tennessee this morning and I am so excited!!! I have not seen her in 7 years!! Yes, that is correct... 7 years!!! We stopped by and saw Auntie, we still don't think she knows who we are! We were outside talking to her and she just got up and went inside!! We figured that was our cue to leave LOL!!

Mariette will be here until Sat morning so we are having one heck of a slumber party!!!

Pack Meeting

We had our monthly Pack Meeting on Tuesday night and it was a BLAST!! The kids favorite part?? Dad's dodge ball!! The dad's couldn't believe we gave them balls to throw at the kids... One dad had his wife yelling at him because he was not soft at all!! We were cracking up, it was awesome!!

The kids got awards for all their hard work, Jacob got a whittling award and a card that allows him to carry his pocketknife to scouts!!

We ended the night with root beer floats.

Smoothie

We made smoothies and Haylee and JJ were all over taste testing!!! Yummy!!!!

This is what happens when JJ is left to entertain himself! (Top Left) The others are what happens when Roxy steps on your eye, and then Haylee is wrestling with you and accidently scratches you! This poor boy got hit three times in one day!

Home Alone

The boys like staying home alone rather than going to the store with me so if I'm planning on being back within the hour, I'll let them stay.
Yesterday I had to get Haylee from dance and drop Jack off so I reviewed the rules; no touching the door, no outside etc... Jacob made a comment about someone breaking in. I told them to just get their reading done and I'll be right back. If someone does try to break in Roxy will just bite them and they'll go away...... Joey's response? "yea, in the tenders!"

Reading

I LOVE to read, Brian, not so much, so it's no surprise that our kids are not too into it either. Jacob is the one we are concerned with. He does ok if and only if he finds a book that really clicks then he gets excited. Otherwise it's a fight to do his daily book reports. Brian made a deal with them that we'd go to the bookstore and pick out whatever book they wanted and when they finished it, we'd go get another one.
I found this series that was written by "The Fonz" anyone remember Happy Days" ??? I opened one and the first line said "Charlie the Clown has diarrhea." I was excited thinking the boys would laugh and eat it up... Joey looks at me with no expression maybe even sad and says "Mom, that is so inappropriate" and turns his eyes down like he's ashamed of me! Ha!
That boy cracks me up!!!

On another note, my sweet princess says today " Mom, she's probably thinking what the he** are you doing!" I was checking Roxy's ears and she felt she needed to speak for her!

Roxy

Roxy is growing on me. She is MUCH better when I take her in the backyard and on walks she's actually really good.

Have I ever told you she follows me around everywhere? I've hit her with the bathroom door enough times that she actually backs up far enough now. Well today she bumped me from behind when I was walking to the laundry room.. I'm talking snout to bum! Apparently I was getting a little to far away for her taste ;) When I sit, her legs are on mine and when I'm on the floor she's on my lap curled up like she's a baby. Cute at times but when I'm changing a diaper??

Like I said, she's growing on me and Brian and the kids just love her so I can't complain!!

Oh yea, she's tried to get on our bed but we nixed that pretty fast so now she crawls under our bed!!

Happy Day!!

Yes, today was a GREAT day!
Not only did I get spoiled rotten because it's my birthday, but THE CARDINALS are going to the SUPERBOWL!!! WA-HOO!!

Last night I went to Scaldoni's for dinner (thanks Tyler & Jenny!!) It was Soooooo yummo! Tomorrow @ 6 I'm getting a 1 hr massage at Massage Envy (thanks Christy!) and I spent the whole day with Hunny Bunny and the kids.. I got clothes, a ring and a mint chip ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins, did I say yummo??!!?! Oh yes, and my sweet neighbor baked me cookies (thanks Maryann!!)

Thanks so much for all the calls and text mess from family and friends!! I love ya guys!!

Math Whiz ;)

So I pick the kids up from school today and Joey tells me that the principal announced Jacob's name today as top of his class for math! He said he and Miss. Murray (Jacob's teacher from last year) cheered for him when they heard that.
When I asked Jacob how that happened he replied " I don't know, it's kind of weird!" Even if it's short lived, we'll take it!

I'm so proud of you Jacob!!!

Soccer Balls

Jack came over yesterday and I was so nervous!! Christy said he's totally fine and he just scoots around on his bum. I got a bucket of toys for him to play with and put him and the toys in the living room.. he was hilarious!! Playing and scooting around like it was nothing for him, and JJ even started crawling around with him like it was a new game!

It did my heart good to see him so happy despite the cast, it's amazing how well kids adapt!!

Fishing

We had the BEST day today!! We started out at Quail Lake which is actually more of a pond compared to Lake Mead but close by.. we got lots of great exercise and found out that even though Jadeth said Roxy was afraid of water, apparently not when there's ducks in it!!
We spent a couple hours there with no luck so we headed in to Coral Canyon and had even more fun. We ended up coming home with 7 fish!!
Joey was the best at helping to chop off the heads and coaching us "die fishy die" and "let's mark x's over their eyes so we know they're dead!"
We had quite the feast tonight and even though fish is not a favorite, the kids all had their fair share.
It was so nice to escape reality even for a little bit and spend time with the family!!

Cardinals???

Am I dreaming??? This has been the best few days of football!! First the Utah Utes won the Sugar Bowl, Tim Tebow took the Gators all the way and won the BCS Championship, and now the Cardinals WON their game tonight.. dare I say, Superbowl here we come?? Oh I think I just jinxed us!!!

BTW... Baby Jack has a cast with soccer balls on it that he thinks is the funniest thing and he can't walk on it for 1 whole week!! He's back to crawling but mommy says he's doing great!

Whaaa Whaaa Whaaa

Ok, so I'm not one to complain at least I don't think! I usually take things in stride, oh it's ok, it could be worse..
Two weeks out of the month I get migraine's, this week I happen to have a head cold also.. one of my best friends moved on New Years Day, the other one being 3 hours away, and the almost 2 year old I babysit 3 days a week is here today and he and JJ have this love hate relationship which results in alot of screaming of "No, and Mine!" at the top of Jack's little lungs.
Jack was in the highchair and JJ took off the tray and yes, Jack ended up on the floor face and knees down. He cried in a way I knew he was hurt just didn't know how bad.
Fast forward a few hours to the kids playing with Roxy in the backyard when Haylee screams followed by Joey yelling and Jacob coming in "Roxy jumped the fence!" Brian and I ran out, jumped the neighbors wall and Brian grabbed her out of the pack of dogs barking up a storm. Turns out she used Jacob's face as a step and got over. We put her in the garage on "time out" and assessed the situation.
Christi calls (Jack's mom) long story short Jack's leg is BROKEN! He has a fracture above his ankle that the Dr. calls a toddler break. This is the same boy that when he was learning to crawl burned his hands on my fireplace glass.. nice babysitter huh??? I'm surprised Christi hasn't killed me!
All I can say is, "could be worse, right??"

It was a pretty uneventful day today so I was stressed about not having anything to blog about at about 3pm today.. I mean , I can't disappoint my fans right?? Well, I get the boys from school, which I have to do everyday now that Jenny moved - thanks Jenny!! ;)

The first thing Jacob says is "Mom! Haylee kissed Trevor?!?!" Trevor is a friend Haylee brings home on Monday's and Wednesday's after school for a few hours. Anyway.... I asked her what happened and if it was gulp...on the mouth??

"No silly, on his forehead!"

After a huge sigh of relief I told her she is too little to be doing that, and this last picture was her response with a giggle!!

She cracks me up with how fast she is growing up.
I mean they "date" twice a week, what's the big deal??

I'm from Phoenix so we are Card's fans, no wins so no disappointment right?? They made it to the PLAYOFFS!! Wa-hoo!! Not only did they make it, they won!!!

Jacob is a Dolphins fan, and we are so proud of them for such a great turnaround. Joey is a Patriots fan, sorry Joey, no Tommy boy, no playoffs!!

Can't wait to see what next season brings!!

Jacob, I can't believe you're 9!! What a great day!

Direct quote; "This is the BEST birthday ever!" Jacob not only got a Miami Dolphins blanket, but he got his dog he's been asking for since he could talk!

He has been celebrating for four days! Friday was when we picked up Roxy. Brian took Joey with him to pick her up and when they got home I took Jacob out to the garage where Joey had her on a leash;

"Congratulations Jacob, she's all yours!!" It was the cutest thing, he was so confused! Then Sat he had a few friends over, Sun we had a family party and tonight he got to pick his birthday dinner and we all got to go to IHOP, YUMMY ;)

He was grinning ear to ear and totally embarrassed when he got Happy Birthday sang to him at In-n-out where Auntie Carri bought him a chocolate shake and again when he read an email letter Shanna had written. You guys are the best!!

New year, New blog

Alright, I'm jumping on the bandwagon and starting a family blog! I really hope you don't expect much, I'm not really as clever as some (Jenny) but my kids make me laugh Almost every day and I'll share those moments with you!

So this morning Joey says, "Hey mom! Now when I do my homework, Roxy can eat it!!"

Jacob's birthday was yesterday and he got a dog.. a 3 1/2 year old Boxer. So leave it to Joey to come up with that one!
